Since completing my CPL/MEIR at Skyborne, I became one of the first 6 candidates to be taken on British Airways’ Newly Qualified Pilot Pathway, which opened for the first-time last year. I started the Type Rating for the A320 in November 2019, and I have recently completed my base training at Chateauroux in France, where I got to fly the aircraft for the first time. Since then, I have been conducting my line training with an aim to be line flying out of Gatwick on the short haul network by April. To say it really is a dream come true is an understatement! From where I set out on this path over 2 years ago, I couldn’t have imagined it would have worked out so well.

With regards to Skyborne, I couldn’t recommend it more highly, and in fact have done so to several of my friends. The standard of instruction by the Flight Instructors was exceptional; Alistair, Paul and Duncan were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also very kind and approachable. If ever there was anything that was complex or difficult, they always had another way of tackling it to help you understand. Outside of the course syllabus, they also provided a good insight and useful guidance into an airline career – this has been invaluable since starting at BA. In addition to the instructors, the fantastic new aircraft and facilities that Skyborne possess, provide the perfect tools to achieve good results in the critical airline training assessments.

From an airline application perspective, I found the team at Skyborne a massive help. I felt supported throughout and the team were totally committed to helping me achieve my career dreams!

Overall, I have very good memories of my time at Skyborne!
