Truly first-class facilities
Our bespoke, state-of-the-art facilities have been developed to get the very best out of you
We have built Skyborne from the ground up, starting with our brand new headquarters at Gloucestershire Airport. The purpose-built 13,000 sq ft training centre is equipped with the very latest aircraft, top-of-the-range flight simulators and ground school training equipment. All of this has been developed with you in mind, meaning you can completely focus on your training in surroundings you will love being a part of.
A NEW PURPOSE-BUILT ACADEMY: GLOUCESTERSHIRE AIRPORT, UK
We selected Gloucestershire Airport as our base, because of its reputation as one of the top General Aviation airports in the UK. The training centre boasts five large classrooms, world-class flight simulators and a bespoke selection/assessment suite.
We have designed the centre to create an environment that optimises your performance. There are lounge facilities and open-plan work zones so you can work to the best of your abilities in absolute comfort.
EXCELLENT STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Currently under development is our high quality residential accommodation, located in Cheltenham town centre. You will have private, individual, en-suite bedrooms, giving you the perfect space to study independently and wind down. There will be kitchens on each floor, laundry facilities and a large common room for recreation and group presentations. The facility has been architecturally designed to provide you with the best possible environment in which to flourish.
WESTWIND SCHOOL OF AERONAUTICS, ARIZONA, USA
Based at Phoenix Deer Valley Municipal Airport, Westwind School of Aeronautics has been training elite professional pilots since it was founded in 1985. This is where you will be based during phase one of our IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme, studying for your FAA 141 CPL.
The airport is operational 24 hours a day and is tower controlled and radar equipped, giving you an even greater experience of what it is like to be a professional pilot. The diverse terrain in the Southwestern United States provides a wide array of flying conditions, including coastal flying, mountain flying, instrument meteorological conditions and high-density altitude, while the weather stays consistently good year-round making Phoenix, Arizona, a great place to learn to fly.
During your time at Westwind you will be based at Aspire Pinnacle Peak, a luxurious apartment complex located just a few minutes from the centre of Phoenix. All apartments are fully furnished, complete with modern kitchen appliances, private patio and laundry facilities, as well as access to a communal on-site pool and gym.
CALIFORNIA AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY (CAU), USA
Located just two hours’ north of Los Angeles, California, CAU is ideally positioned to provide initial flight training through to MEP CPL.
All training is overseen by a Skyborne CFI who will be permanently located at the facility. Instructors deliver flight training to exacting standards under Skyborne’s approval. All training is electronically logged and recorded, which is directly linked to the UK facility.
CAU provides a comparable experience to our Gloucestershire Airport HQ, using glass cockpit aircraft, excellent accommodation facilities and a world-class training centre. The Californian climate represents the perfect conditions for the early stages of training and a wonderful location for R&R when time permits.
