A bit about me:
“Born and raised in the Philippines, I am a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from our country’s state university (University of the Philippines). I am also a former Aircraft Powerplant Technical Services Engineer at one of the most prestigious airlines in the Philippines. And now, fulfilling my lifelong dream – of becoming a professional airline pilot.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in aviation from the moment I was born. My mom is already in the travel/tourism industry. I was lucky enough to accompany her on some of her international trips when I was younger. Ironically, she always had a fear of flying which enhanced my desire to be a part of it – I want to make everyone in flight feels at ease.
I am a goal-oriented, and highly motivated person. I am always considering the best of the best. I knew that studying in the U.S. would give me an edge over other pilots. By training at Skyborne, I know for a fact that I will be equipped to be successful. Considering Skyborne’s programs, and its international presence I just knew that Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach would uphold everything it puts its name to, to be the number one flight school that produces professional pilots that suits in any aviation standards.
I have only recently joined Skyborne and made the move to the US. It felt surreal at first. I was giving up a respected profession and moving to a brand-new country and new surroundings. I was concerned that language and culture may be an obstacle, however, my experience so far has made me realise that I overthought everything. Skyborne treats everyone professionally, and I’ve been made to feel part of the family. Skyborne is more than an organization that you can depend and lean on, they positively push you to thrive and be excellent in everything you set out to achieve.
For now my focus is to train hard to be an exemplary, and well-respected commercial airline pilot – I’d love one day to secure my dream job with our flag carrier in the Philippines (Philippine Airlines) if given the opportunity. But who knows if there will be a sound opportunity waiting for me after my training with Skyborne.
My advice to anyone considering a career in aviation, I would say if you really want to achieve something you are passionate about, always have that goal in mind; focus on the goal, pray for it, and work hard for it. The hardest step to take is the first one.”
The whole team at Skyborne wish Clyde every success in achieving his dream, we are confident that he will exceed!
