A bit about me:
“I grew up in Yakima, Washington, graduating from West Valley High School in 2011. I then went on to study nutrition and play college volleyball at Central Washington University. After graduating, I moved down to Houston, TX to complete my dietetic internship through the University of Houston. I was a registered dietitian for 5 years, working in various settings, like a skilled nursing facility, outpatient primary care office, and an eating disorder treatment center.Â
After I got back from a 9 week trip through Western Europe and the Middle East! I realized that traveling consistently puts me out of my comfort zone (which I love), so I decided to turn that into my career! Flying planes just also happens to be incredibly fun.Â
Other than my 51 hour drive down here, the transition has been smooth! I felt like starting in ground school allowed me to make connections with classmates quickly. I also feel that it’s been a good balance of having a pace that pushes you to work hard, but at the same time allows you time to rest and really soak everything in.Â
I decided to come to Skyborne because I want to work for Delta, and this was the fastest way to get there. I also really appreciate that Skyborne fully immerses their students in the experience. I appreciate the professional relationships that skyborne has with companies like Delta and Skywest. As a student, it makes it a lot easier for me to connect with those companies; I can get to where I want to get more efficiently.Â
My advice to anybody looking to train here would be to find somebody in the program and ask them for advice! I wish I would have had somebody give me more of a rundown on the day to day stuff here at Skyborne, as well as what to expect in the beginning. “
