Meet Noah Smith who is first generation in his family in aviation.
He was always interested in aircraft, airports and flying from a young age but really knew he wanted to be in the industry after he took his first flight when he was 16 years old.
This passion just grew and during his time at the University of Tennessee, it was when he was on a flight with the president of the university, Randy Boyd, that he knew becoming a pilot was his future.
Noah went on to work in politics and higher education gaining valuable skills in business which included budgeting, fiscal management, logistics, maintenance and managerial duties. During this time, he established himself as a leader, a committed campus advocate and a community activist. He believes these attributes led him to pursuing his passion for flying and felt equipped to go for his goals, doing research online and finding out about Skyborne.
He applied to Skyborne in 2023, aged 24, with his PPL license already in hand and completed the Part 61 and the Part 141 licenses. He graduated in March 2024, and has since gone on to complete his Instrument, Commercial Single and Multi-Engine, CFI, CFII and MEI licenses all with Skyborne. He loves working for us and his career path looks very bright.
When he has finalized his flight time, he has a placement with Endeavor Air and will then go on to work with Delta Air Lines after a few years.
Noah had this advice for any aspiring pilots out there;
“Take the discovery flight as it will ignite you and you will know if this is for you. This is not all about the financial incentives but having the passion for flying and wanting to be a great pilot.”
