Providing you meet the criteria, you are able to apply at anytime from the age of 17, but must be at least 18 years old on the day your course starts.

There are scheduled blocks of time off during your training. We ask that you limit your engagements during training. We understand things happen in life where you may need to take time off so we will be as flexible as possible.
We have a fleet of 3 Diamond 42 aircraft and a T67 in the UK and a fleet of over 50 aircraft in the US!
Yes. We have strong relationships with several airlines in the industry. We have successfully placed many trainees via these connections, the list of which is growing.
This varies depending on the industry and recruitment levels but the normal placement time is between 3-6 months.
Yes. We have a dedicated team of Skyborne trained Mental Health First Aiders in both the UK and US. The team are contactable via email, telephone or face-to-face to discuss, support and guide students through anything that is affecting them during training. They can also point students in the direction of any additional external resources that can assist and all support is offered with full confidentiality. Thanks to Skyborne’s partnership with Red Umbrella, students can also access professional peer support from commercial pilots that are also trained therapists. “Care Coins” can be allocated or purchased as required to access professional support via the My Airspace platform. Also available free of charge on the platform are Mindfulness sessions conducted by one of the pilot peers for students to access. Yes. Accommodation is included for the entirety of your training in the cost of the course.
Yes. We find that when trainees are staying in the same environment together, it creates a stronger mindset and better results!
Course fees do not have to be paid upfront and we have a system in place that allows students to pay in instalments to make financing training more manageable. To find out more about course fees and financial support, visit the website page of the training programme you are interested in.
No. The degree programme is seamlessly integrated with your training syllabus so your progress is not affected. The majority of the workload required to earn your degree is completed upon graduation from your flight training.
Yes, we accept individuals with hours/ratings wanting to continue training. Under FAA rules, some hours may not be fully transferrable if they were accrued in a Part 61 school.
Training at Skyborne conditions pilots for a professional flying career whether it be in commercial, cargo, or business aviation.
If you are meeting your marks, you can progress more quickly. If you need a bit more time, we will work with you.
Our course flow and hours are designed for the average student’s progression. If additional flying hours are required due to student performance, both the student and Skyborne will agree on a specific cost which is then included in an “Additional Training Agreement” format called an ATA.
Training is a full-time commitment, but a highly flexible part time job is permissable as long as it does not interfere with training.
Our policy is to work with each student individually to allow them to progress at their own pace. However, multiple failures of either ground school or flight courses will require a Training Review by the staff and can result in training termination if no progress is being observed.
Active planning is in progress for the installation of a gym at our Vero Beach center.
There is an inground pool, trainee lounges, grill-pits, a sand volleyball court and a basketball court. Plenty of events are held around campus including basketball tournaments, bake sales, SOUPer Friday and celebration of holidays for domestic and international students.
Skyborne has a fleet of over 50 Piper aircraft on campus consisting of a healthy combination of Warrior, Arrow, and Seminole models.
Employment as an instructor is not guaranteed as it is based on both Skyborne’s staffing needs and student performance during training.
Living on site is not required but strongly encouraged for full training emersion and convenient travel between accommodation and training center.
You must be aged between 18 and 32 years on the first day of the selection process.
If you do not meet this requirement, you can pursue these subjects via the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). NIOS results are acceptable.
It is in your best interest not to prepare for the online testing. It is designed to identify whether you have the basic aptitude to successfully complete your course of training with Skyborne. Preparing for the test will increase the risk of masking your true aptitude (natural ability to meet the competencies required to pass the course). However, you may review the types of tests you will undergo by accessing the cut-e testing site at: https://assessment.aon.com/en-us/online-assessment/practice-assessments.
These are not the exact tests you will be attempting, but they will give you an idea of what to expect.
The advantage having completed the DGCA 3 exams (Navigation, Meteorology & Air Regulations) and having the Radio Telephone licence is that you can commence flight training in the next available course which we schedule every month. However, for all those of our selected cadets who haven’t completed the DGCA exams, enrolment in Skyborne’s SKYWORX India DGCA Distance Learning Programme is a convenient option for completing these requirements.
While Skyborne does not currently offer funding or scholarship solutions for the programme, banks in India do recognise the importance of the cadet pilot programme and extend loans to trainees based on their individual financial circumstances. The Letter of Intent (LOI) signed by IndiGo and the Skyborne contract are two very important documents required towards the loan processing.
