Introducing Skyborne trainee, Saar Shapira

Title: Skyborne Flight Instructor

A bit about me:

“I grew up by the beach in Israel, most of the time found surfing or riding mountain bikes instead of being at high school. After serving in the special forces, I decided to try skydiving and it was love at the first try. I was addicted.

The passion I had for flying my body and my parachute drove my motivation to fly airplanes, since my first skydive I knew that the sky was my playground. My dream job is to be a flight test pilot.

I researched flight schools and chose Skyborne because of the professional environment. The flight line, the condition of the airplanes and the great maintenance team, this made it an easy decision for me.

Leaving my friends and family in Israel was tough, but my flight school friends turned into second family very quickly. The course was not easy and required hours of chair fly and study to complete according to the standards I set for myself.

I am now lucky enough to be an instructor at Skyborne. Getting to teach people using my unique perspective of how to fly is a dream come true. The look in the trainee’s eyes when something “clicks” and when they achieve their goals are just priceless.”

My one piece of advice to anyone with a passion in aviation is to never give up! Get involved in the great fun that comes with flying, whether its smaller canopies or heavy airplanes.”
