Skyborne Airline Academy Vero Beach has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Aerospace Center for Excellence Inc./SUN ‘n FUN Fly-In Inc. to provide discovery flights and airline career presentations for campers at Destination Aviation Summer Camp.

Under the agreement, Skyborne will provide real in-flight experiences for as many as 21 advanced campers on June 23rd 2022, flying around Lakeland, Florida for up to one hour. During the weeks of June 6th and June 13th, Skyborne’s management team will also give a presentation to beginner and intermediate campers on how to become an airline pilot and flight training with Skyborne.

Ed Davidson, Managing Director at Skyborne says: “When this opportunity was presented, we were excited to offer flights to aspiring student aviators from Destination Aviation Summer Camp in our Piper Warrior aircraft. We believe that by offering these experiences we can spark a passion for flying in as many young people as possible, building the ranks of the next generation of airline pilots.”

Liz Jilbert, Education Coordinator, Aerospace Center for Excellence says: “Having Skyborne Airline Academy onboard is a great opportunity for our campers and we’re excited to be able to offer this program at our SUN n’ FUN Lakeland facility for the first time with Skyborne. This agreement and others like it support the future of aviation and truly inspire the next generation.”

This is Skyborne’s first year of involvement in the program. The Destination Aviation campers eligible for discovery flights will enjoy time with a Skyborne instructor in one of the academy’s Piper Warrior single-engine training aircraft.
