I studied Aeronautical Engineering at Stansted Airport College for two years and received an extended diploma. The course covered mathematics and physics, as well as teaching us about the inner workings of an aircraft.
During secondary school I began wondering about my future and realised how important it was to me to do a job that I was genuinely passionate about and would love to do. I had begun flying privately in my spare time and decided that I wanted to be a pilot. From then onwards I chose subjects that would help me begin a career in aviation.
After visiting a few large flight academies, I realised that I much preferred Skyborne and I chose to apply there after my first visit to their open day. Skyborne has a very friendly environment, the whole place feels much more personal compared to other flight schools and that’s what I really wanted for my pilot training experience.
I can’t waiting to begin the six months flying out in Florida, at Vero Beach, but I’m also looking forward to coming back and being able to fly the stunning DA 42’s too!

I studied a level three extended diploma in Aeronautical Engineering at Stansted Airport College. This gave me a great insight into how an aircraft flies along with learning about key airport and maintenance procedures.
Ever since I can remember, my main career goal has been to become a professional pilot.
I chose Skyborne after attending a taster day. The staff took the time to learn our names, which instantly made me feel right at home. The facilities, instructors and cadets are also extremely welcoming to new students.
Probably like everyone else, I can’t wait to begin studying and flying at Vero Beach in Florida. It will be a very big change not being able to see anyone from home, but it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t wait.
