Skyborne strengthens team with new Group Head of Safety

Gloucestershire, UK – 12 March, 2025: Skyborne Airline Academy is today announcing the appointment of Jack Keegan as Group Head of Safety. 

Keegan joins Skyborne after nearly two decades working in aviation safety and will ensure the highest standards are maintained across the academy’s bases in Vero Beach, Florida, US, and Gloucestershire and Bournemouth, UK.

Lee Woodward, CEO, Skyborne Airline Academy, says: “Jack’s extensive experience and his unwavering commitment to operational excellence, make him a valuable asset to the Skyborne team. His expertise will be instrumental in solidifying our commitment to a safe and supportive learning environment.”

In his new role, Keegan will be responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of an effective Safety Management System (SMS) across Skyborne’s global operations, including the implementation of iQSMS, an integrated Safety and Quality Management software.

Keegan adds: “Skyborne’s dedication to shaping the future of aviation greatly resonates with me and I look forward to contributing to the academy’s continued success. As a respected leader in pilot training, I’m excited to work alongside Skyborne’s passionate team to maintain and enhance a world-class safety culture across its global operations.”

Keegan’s career includes roles at Bristol Airport, Specialist Aviation Services, Birmingham Airport and Gloucestershire Airport, where he gained invaluable expertise in safety systems. He earned his National Private Pilot Licence (NPPL) on a C42 microlight fixed-wing aircraft, and is NEBOSH and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualified.
