“Training at the airlines was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I’m grateful that I went to Skyborne Airline Academy because it prepared me incredibly well. Their training is structured, purposeful, and very similar to what I went through at SkyWest.”

“Living on campus at Skyborne has been a game changer. The proximity to ground school classrooms, the flight line, and fellow cadets made the learning experience immersive and engaging. Ground schools were interactive and enjoyable, with each instructor bringing unique stories and teaching methods to the table. The flight line is where the real fun begins. Surrounded by other aspiring pilots, the camaraderie and shared passion for flying are what make Skyborne special.”

“Skyborne is the place to be! I’ve been able to enjoy flying so much because of the people I have met here. From students to the staff everyone has been very supportive of each other in their aviation journey. It’s a great environment because everyone wants to help you be the best pilot you can be!”

“The academy mirrors the industry’s expectations—strict protocols, higher standards than FAA regulations, and an emphasis on personal and professional accountability. Having worked for an airline, I understand that the transition from student pilot to airline pilot needs to be seamless. Skyborne provides that preparation, ensuring that when I step into my airline career, I’m not just ready - I’m thriving.”

“After graduating from college, I sought after a flight school that had a similar immersive experience, and Skyborne ended up being just that! A community of students and staff who are goal oriented and also pride themselves in making your time as a student beyond enjoyable! I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

“Skyborne provides new pilots with an exceptional opportunity to earn their certifications to become commercial aviators. We are very pleased to launch this premier partnership and to offer a unique pathway for Skyborne pilots to become professional pilots for SkyWest.”

“Skyborne’s thorough trainee selection process and impressive standard of training stand apart as concrete measures for producing professional and highly skilled pilots. With this partnership, we will be able to continue our growth in the charter industry with First Officers who are well-prepared for the flight deck.”

“Skyborne has the level of professionalism and training rigor we look for in our flight school partners, and we are very pleased to welcome the academy as an integral part of Delta Propel. From its inception, the program has focused on providing a clear and rewarding road to becoming a Delta pilot and this continues to be our North Star as more flight schools join us in our mission.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Skyborne Airline Academy, which is recognized as being in the top three flight schools in the United States. To continue to achieve Avelo’s mission of inspiring travel and making air travel easy and affordable, we need the very best pilots. By partnering with Skyborne to implement a new Preferred Hiring Pathway, we can be confident that the highest standards of training will be put into professional practice on our flight decks.”

This is where it all starts, your first set of wings.
Ground School
Two and a half weeks, fast-paced learning. You’ll learn the why behind everything you’re about to do in the airplane, and walk out ready to pass your FAA written.
Stage One – First Flights
You hit the line and get hands-on. Stick-and-rudder skills, patterns, landings, the fundamentals. This stage ends the way it should: your first solo. Just you and the airplane.
Stage Two – Building a Pilot
Now it comes together. Cross-country flying, night ops, performance takeoffs and landings, and real decision-making. Finish strong, pass your checkride, and you’ve earned it, FAA Private Pilot.
This is where you stop being a fair-weather pilot.
You’ll learn to trust your instruments when the outside world disappears, clouds, weather, no horizon. This is real flying.
Stage One – Control & Scan
Precision aircraft control and building a disciplined instrument scan. No shortcuts here.
Stage Two – Real IFR Flying
Approaches, procedures, and full flights on the gauges. Everything comes together under pressure.
Pass the checkride, and you walk away with your Instrument Rating. The skill that separates pilots from aviators.
Now we turn you into a professional.
Ground School
Another focused two-and-a-half-week push to prep you for the FAA written, commercial-level knowledge, no guesswork.
Phase One – Advanced Flying
You step it up. Complex maneuvers, precision flying, cross-country work, day and night, dual and solo.
Phase Two – Instrument Integration
You sharpen your IFR skills alongside your instrument training, using advanced simulators to push your proficiency.
Phase Three – Checkride Ready
Everything gets polished. Standards tighten. You fly like a pro because that’s what you’re about to become.
Pass your checkride and you’re a Commercial Pilot, paid to fly.
More speed. More systems. No room for mistakes.
You’ll train in the Piper PA-44 Seminole, learning how to manage a complex aircraft, and more importantly, how to handle it when things go wrong.
Engine-out procedures, systems management, precision control, it’s all here. You’ll also train in the AATD to sharpen your edge before the checkride.
Earn this rating and add multi-engine privileges to your commercial certificate.
This is where you prove you really know how to fly, by teaching it.
You’ll learn to break it down, build it back up, and train the next generation of pilots. It’s also your fastest path to 1,500 hours and the airlines.
At Skyborne Airline Academy, we don’t just certify you, we set you up.
What you get:
By the time you hit 1,500 hours, you’re not just qualified, you’re competitive, experienced, and airline-ready.
