Commercial Pilot License Eligibility Requirements
Before you apply for our Commercial Pilot License programme, please check that you meet the eligibility criteria below.
If you do not meet the mandatory education or age application requirements yet, you can still register your interest by clicking the REGISTER INTEREST button below, so we can send you timely information about the programme.
- Age
You must be aged 18-40 on the first day of the selection process.
- Education
You must possess an education level of 10+2 with minimum score of 50% individually in each subject i.e., Physics / Mathematics / English.
- CITIZENSHIP
You must be an Indian National or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) holder and be eligible to hold a US Visa for the purpose of study at technical school (M1 visa).
- MEDICAL
Before you commence training, you must hold a current and valid DGCA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate and obtain a US FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Language
You must be fluent in both written and spoken English. As a minimum standard, you should be able to demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5, or an equivalent score in TOEFL or TOEIC. English language ability will be assessed during the Selection stage.
- Background
It is mandatory to complete the following DGCA CPL theory exams - Air Regulations, Meteorology and Navigation) before you commence the selection process.

Overview
Skyborne’s Indian Commercial Pilot License (CPL) programme is delivered through a structured and time-efficient 12 month schedule. This comprehensive pathway allows you to advance from no prior flying experience to FAA Commercial Pilot certification in both Single-Engine and Multi-Engine aircraft, including Instrument privileges, delivering the certifications, technical proficiency, and operational mindset expected by commercial airlines.
This full-time, all-inclusive training programme includes:
Teacher led instruction in the classroom at Vero Beach, Florida

How to apply for the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Programme
We review all online applications and subject to you meeting our entry criteria, you will be invited to complete our initial web-based selection process. This is a series of online psychometric, numeracy and aptitude assessments.
We use the AON assessment tool to help determine whether or not you have the core competencies needed to successfully commence the course.
The next stage of the selection process will be to attend an interview with Skyborne.
SPECIAL OFFER: The first 50 applicants will receive a FREE assessment worth $150 USD.
Following the first 50 applications, there will be a non-refundable one-time assessment fee of USD $150. The selection process will start as soon as the assessment fee has been paid.
