Catching Up with Mia Zuccato, SkyWest First Office
Recently, we were able to sit down with Skyborne FAA 141 graduate and SkyWest First Officer, Mia Zuccato, to hear about life after flight training, her favorite parts of the job, and the advice she has for aspiring airline pilots!
What do you enjoy most about flying for SkyWest?
“My favorite part about flying for SkyWest is the opportunity to travel to new places and work alongside incredible coworkers. Flying a jet across the country is incredibly fun, and every trip brings something different.Â
Every work trip brings a unique experience. Whether it’s a new city or a different crew, it keeps the job exciting and makes each trip feel like an adventure.”
Do you have a favorite destination or airport?
“One of my favorite airports to land at is Traverse City, Michigan, because of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Plus, you can even buy a fresh slice of cherry pie right in the terminal!”
What advice would you give students who are interested in flying for SkyWest?
“My advice for pilots considering a career at SkyWest is to join the cadet program, seek out a mentor, and ask plenty of questions. Learning from pilots who have already been through the process can make a huge difference.”
We thank you, Mia, for taking the time to fill us in on your new career with SkyWest! It’s been fantastic to watch your journey from student pilot to SkyWest First Officer, and we look forward to seeing what you accomplish next!
