Graduating from high school doesn’t mean there’s only one path ahead.
Some students head to college, while others choose community college, apprenticeships, or jump straight into work.
But what if your next step was 35,000 feet in the air?
If you’re looking for a hands-on, rewarding career that takes you beyond the typical 9-5, becoming an airline pilot could be for you.
Why choose an airline pilot career?
Learning to fly is just the beginning.
As an airline pilot, the sky is your office, and no two working days are the same.
You’ll fly advanced aircraft alongside a professional crew, with real responsibility every time you step into the flight deck. As you gain experience, there are also opportunities to progress from First Officer to Captain and develop your career further.
The job can take you far beyond your home airport, too. Not many careers pay you to see the world.
For anyone with a passion for aviation, it’s an opportunity to turn something you love into a profession.
Start your career sooner
Unlike many professions, you don’t need to spend four (or more) years at college before getting started.
At Skyborne, you can complete professional flight training and qualify as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) in around 14 months. From there, you’ll spend around 15 months instructing and building the 1,500-hour flight hours needed for the airlines.
Starting after high school could put you on the path to an airline career in less time than a traditional four-year degree.
Is pilot training right for you?
If you enjoy problem-solving, working with others, and taking on new challenges, pilot training could be a great fit.
You’ll need commitment and a willingness to keep learning, but you won’t spend all your time sitting in a classroom. Training combines theory with practical flying, giving you the chance to put what you learn into practice in the cockpit.
Train with Skyborne
Skyborne’s FAA 141 programs are designed for students with little or no flying experience.
You’ll train year-round at our Vero Beach campus with more than 100 experienced flight instructors, using modern aircraft and advanced simulators.
From your first lesson to the airlines, you’ll follow a structured pathway designed around a professional aviation career.
We’re proud that 95% of Skyborne alumni progress into pilot roles with global airlines. Could you be next?
