Today, we’re getting to know Emily Ramirez, our Human Resources Coordinator, whose background in business and healthcare has brought a fresh perspective to the Skyborne team.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Emily holds a master’s degree in Business and has built her career around administration, business operations and working with people. Before joining Skyborne, she worked at Baptist Health South Florida, where she held positions in finance and physician compensation. These experiences helped her develop a strong foundation in employee relations and organizational operations, while also strengthening her interest in the people-focused side of business.
Her transition into aviation wasn’t necessarily something she had always planned.
Coming from a background in healthcare and business administration, joining an aviation organization presented an opportunity to step into an entirely new industry, continue developing professionally and learn more about the world of flight training.
That opportunity ultimately brought her to Skyborne, where she now works as part of the Human Resources team!
As an HR Coordinator, Emily’s days are anything but predictable. Her responsibilities span a variety of areas, including onboarding new employees, assisting with recruitment, supporting employee relations, managing compliance and helping keep daily HR operations running smoothly. Since joining Skyborne, she’s had the opportunity to take on new responsibilities, expand her knowledge and continue building her professional skill set.
For Emily, one of the most rewarding aspects of the role is the opportunity to connect with people across the organization. With employees representing a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and departments, she enjoys being part of a community where everyone contributes to a shared goal.
She particularly values the opportunity to build relationships with colleagues and watch new employees settle into their roles, grow professionally and become part of the Skyborne family. It’s those everyday connections that have made her experience so meaningful.
Away from the office, Emily keeps just as busy. Fitness and travel are two of her biggest passions, and she’s also a certified Pilates instructor.
Whether she’s challenging herself through fitness, exploring somewhere new or spending quality time with family and friends, she enjoys finding opportunities to grow, stay active and make the most of her time outside of work.
From healthcare and business administration to aviation, Emily’s career journey is a reminder that sometimes the most rewarding opportunities come from stepping into something unexpected. While her industry may have changed, her passion for working with people and making a positive impact has remained a constant.
