What is Skyborne’s Indian CPL programme?
Skyborne’s new CPL programme offers a Directorate General of Aviation (DGCA)-aligned pathway that allows aspiring pilots in India to go from zero-flight experience to commercial pilot-ready in as little as 12 months.
Throughout the programme, cadets will work towards and achieve a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) CPL aligned with DGCA requirements, including Single-Engine and Multi-Engine ratings, as well as Instrument privileges, meaning certified pilots are as prepared as they can be for a smooth transition into airline training.

How do I know if Skyborne’s CPL programme is right for me?
Before applying to the Indian CPL programme, applicants must ensure they meet the following criteria:
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 40 at the time of application
- Must have education level equivalent to 10 + 2, with at least 50% in each of English, Maths and Physics
- Must be an Indian National or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) holder
- Must have cleared the Air Regulation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation and Technical Specific (C172R) DGCA exams
- It is preferred that applicants have cleared the Radio Telephony Restricted DGCA qualification
- Applicants must also ensure they meet the medical requirements necessary to train to become a pilot, and when applying, hold a current and valid DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Before flight training commences, applicants must also obtain a US FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Aside from qualifications and age criteria, applicants must demonstrate key characteristics required to be an airline pilot, such as adaptability, determination, the ability to work effectively within a team, and clear communication.
Not only will cadets acquire the skills needed to become a commercial pilot but learn how to think and act like one too.
