Name: Ritisha Pahuja
Program: IndiGo Cadet Program
From mastering challenging landings to building lifelong friendships along the way, Ritisha Pahuja’s PPL journey has been filled with moments of growth, learning, and plenty to be proud of.
As an IndiGo Cadet, Ritisha recently reached this exciting milestone at Skyborne, and we caught up with her to hear about the challenges she overcame, the lessons she’ll carry forward, and the friendship that made her journey even more memorable.
What’s one part of your PPL training you found difficult at first but now feel genuinely proud that you mastered?
“I initially struggled with short-field landings, especially with consistently touching down at the desired point. However, with regular practice, patience, and guidance from my instructor, I gradually improved my technique. I am now able to confidently and consistently land right on the thousand-foot markers, which is something I am genuinely proud of achieving.”
If someone handed you the controls on your very first flight again, what would you do differently now that you have your PPL?
“I would focus much more on maintaining a proper instrument scan while continuously looking outside and maintaining situational awareness.
I learned later in my training that effectively balancing the instrument scan with outside visual references is one of the most important skills a pilot can develop. Knowing this from the beginning would have made my learning process much more efficient and confident.”
Tell us about your friendship with fellow IndiGo Cadet pal, Mitali (pictured)!
“Since starting my training here at Skyborne, I’ve met a dear friend who happens to be from Dehradun, a city not too far from Delhi, where I am from.
Mitali has been like an elder sister to me throughout my journey at Skyborne. She is one of the sweetest and most supportive people I have met here, and she even helped me prepare for my oral check ride. I am truly grateful to Skyborne for giving me a friendship I will always cherish and carry with me beyond my training.”
Ritisha’s journey is a great reminder that becoming a pilot is about more than mastering the controls, it’s about patience, persistence, continuous learning, and the people you meet along the way.
With her PPL now complete, she’s one step closer to her goal of becoming an airline pilot, taking the lessons and friendships from her time at Skyborne with her every step of the way.
