Meet Skyborne Graduate and IndiGo Pilot, Hardik Ramnani

Name: Hardik Ramnani

Career: Skyborne Graduate and now IndiGo pilot

Hardik hasn’t forgotten his time at Skyborne Airline Academy. We recently caught up with Hardik to chat about his experience at Skyborne, why he chose the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme, and touch on his journey since graduation. Let’s see what he has to say!

Why did you choose Skyborne for your training?
“I chose Skyborne because of their strong reputation. Between the modern well-maintained fleet, structured training environment, experienced instructors, and emphasis on professionalism, they gave me the confidence I needed to prepare me for the airlines!”

Looking back, what part of your training had the biggest impact on you?
“Reflecting back, one of the biggest impacts of my training was the people at Skyborne. The instructors were not only excellent teachers but also mentors who genuinely cared about helping us become safe, competent pilots. Beyond the instructors, the operations team and support staff were always approachable and willing to help, making the entire training experience smooth and enjoyable.

Their guidance, encouragement, and commitment to our success created an environment where I could learn with confidence and grow both as a pilot and as a professional.”

How did Skyborne help prepare you for your journey with IndiGo?
“Skyborne prepared me for IndiGo by creating an airline-like training environment from day one. Beyond developing strong flying skills, there was a strong emphasis on professionalism, everything from proper grooming and checklist discipline, to SOP adherence and cockpit etiquette. Those habits became second nature during training, making the transition into IndiGo’s operating environment much smoother and giving me the confidence to step into my role as a Junior First Officer.”

What would you say to someone considering the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme with Skyborne?
“If you’re passionate about aviation, go for it. Behind the glamour of being an airline pilot is a journey that demands hard work, discipline, and perseverance. The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme is challenging, however, one of its biggest advantages is the reassurance of having a secured path to the flight deck with India’s largest and fastest-growing airline upon successful completion of your training. Trust the process and it’ll all be worth it.”

Thank you for letting us take a trip down memory lane with you, Hardik! Your story is an inspiration to those around you, and we can’t wait to see you progress into First Officer with IndiGo!
