Name: Krishna Prajapati
Career: IndiGo Cadet
We were able to stop and chat with Krishna, cadet with Skyborne’s IndiGo Cadet Programme and listen in on her experience on what’s it’s been like pursing her dream as a female cadet!
What inspired you to pursue a career as a pilot, and how did that passion lead you to the IndiGo Cadet Programme?
“I came from a small town in India, where no women pilots existed, to the skies of the U.S. I started when I was 18 in the IndiGo Cadet Programme at Skyborne Airline Academy. As one of the first women in my hometown to pursue this dream, I’ve been able to inspire so many others. When I returned, the media and my community rallied behind me for this success, and they are so proud that I’ve come from such a small place to achieve this big dream.”
What was the most rewarding moment of your training journey leading up to earning your Commercial Pilot License?
“From my first day, every challenge has shaped me, and today, I’m completing my Commercial Pilot License, which has been the most rewarding moment for me for sure. I couldn’t be more grateful for the guidance, discipline, and passion this program instilled in me.”
Now that you’ve achieved your Commercial Pilot License, what are you most excited about as you continue your journey toward becoming an IndiGo pilot?
“I’ll soon be preparing to fly A320s in India, which I’m definitely most excited about. For anyone out there who feels their start is too small, keep going. The sky truly is no limit, and your dreams can take you anywhere.”
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with us, Krishna. We are excited that we have played such a vital role in your career journey and cannot wait to see how far you soar!
