frequently asked questions

You will find much of the information you need about the Skyborne UK Graduation 2024 within these pages. However, we have answered some frequently asked questions below. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch using the button at the bottom of the page.

The Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham. For full details, directions etc, please go to the venue website. However, for any questions that are not answered in this FAQ, please email graduation@skyborne.com.

Yes, there is plenty of parking. Please visit the venue website for more details here.

The lunchtime ceremony is 2.30pm, but we will be serving drinks and a canape lunch prior, so please arrive for 1.00pm so that you can spend some time chatting to your past course colleagues and the VIP airline guests who will be joining us.
The evening ball starts at 7.00pm for drinks and a grazing table, followed by dinner at 8pm.

We have invited representatives from a number of airlines to join us.

Please wear your Skyborne uniform. If you don’t have one, please contact graduation@skyborne.com.

Please wear your airline uniform. Senior personnel from your airline have been invited and will be expecting to see you representing the airline.

If you have not been issued your airline uniform yet, please contact us at graduation@skyborne.com and we will liaise with the airline to see if issue can be expedited.

‘Formal’ is similar to what you would wear to a daytime wedding (but minus the hats and fascinators!). Please note: The formal dress code for the daytime is for your guests only. As the graduating pilot you should wear your airline uniform if you are now with an airline, or Skyborne uniform (see above).

‘Black tie’ means formal evening wear such as dinner jacket and bow tie (but smart evening wear is acceptable if you don’t own or wish to hire a Dinner Jacket.) For ladies this often means a long dress, but formal evening wear/posh party outfit is perfect too.

No, should you require overnight accommodation, please book this directly at your own cost. We have favourable rates at two locations in Cheltenham (subject to availability), the Leonardo Hotel and the Queens Hotel. Links to book rooms here can be found below:

The Leonardo Hotel

leonardohotels.co.uk/hotels/cheltenham.

Use code LHSKYB171024 to access the discounted rate (approx £99).

The Queens Hotel

https://queenshotelcheltenham.co.uk/.

Use code SKYBRO or DIRECT to access the discounted rate (approx £158).

Sorry, but not at the moment. However, if we are aware of a large number of you staying at the Leonardo Hotel, we will look into coordinating a bus for the evening ball to bring you to the venue and home again. Please indicate your interest on the RSVP.

We will be covering the reception drinks during the day and evening as well as all food. Wine will be provided at your table at the evening ball, but there will be a pay bar for other drinks.

No. You need to do that yourself through your airline’s roster bidding system. However, Skyborne will be contacting the airlines we work with to ensure they are aware of the event and those who qualify to attend to hopefully aid the process to secure the time off.

Please email us at graduation@skyborne.com for details of our ticketing arrangements for additional guests.

Providing you provide your current address on the RSVP form, we will make a note to send you your certificate after the event. If you do not provide an address on the RSVP form, we will assume you do not wish to have your certificate sent to you.

We are very sorry, but unfortunately not. If you are experiencing problems requesting time off from flying if you are with an airline, do let us know and we will see if we can assist graduation@skyborne.com.

If you have any additional questions about the event, please email graduation@skyborne.com
