The Multi-Engine Class Rating (MEP) is the first step to extend your Private Pilot Licence privileges and move closer towards a professional flying career. The MEP introduces and qualifies you to operate twin-engine, higher performance aircraft.

The Skyborne MEP class rating course includes theoretical and practical sessions. The rating is completed on the Diamond DA-42 aircraft and concludes with a one-hour flight test.

Pad Pilot CBT and non CAA test fee included. Two weeks of training including: 

7hours of theoretical knowledge instruction and CBT
7hours of theoretical knowledge instruction and CBT
6 Hours of practical training in a Diamond DA-42 Twin Star Aircraft
Comprising of two hours and 30 minutes of dual flight instruction under normal conditions of Multi-Engine aeroplane operations and no less than three hours 30 minutes of dual flight instruction in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.

Course Requirements

You must be 18 years of age at time of course commencement.

For the issue of a first class rating on a single-pilot multi-engine aeroplane you must have completed at least 70 hours as PIC in aeroplanes and hold at least a PPL(A).

You must be fluent in English, non-native English speakers must achieve a minimum of ICAO Level 6.

You must hold a current UK CAA Part-Med Class 1 or 2 Medical Certificate.
