Skyborne expands training capacity with new Aviatify A320 simulator

Skyborne has installed a brand-new UKCAA-approved Airbus A320 Flight Training Device to enhance its training capacity and produce pilots that are ready for airline operations following Skyborne’s industry leading APS MCC course.

Located at Skyborne’s Bournemouth Airport facility, the FNPT II MCC compliant simulator from Aviatify will provide trainees with the opportunity to gain practical A320 flight experience and exposure to immersive flying scenarios, with very high levels of fidelity and reliability.

Neill Evans, Head of Training, Skyborne, says: “This marks the second simulator installed at our Bournemouth Airport training centre in the past year and is testament to our commitment to delivering world-class facilities that support the next generation of airline pilots.

“The A320 simulator from our trusted partner Aviatify plays a significant role in providing our trainees with valuable experience and operational awareness, while setting them up for a successful flying career.”

The new simulator includes an Instructor Workstation and intuitive IOS, designed by ProSim-TS, equipping instructors with an ergonomic workspace with tools to monitor and manage sessions effectively while delivering consistent, efficient pilot training.

Frank van de Laar, Commercial Director, Aviatify, says: “We are happy and honoured to have been awarded this contract from one of the prime ATOs in the UK. Along the way, we have come to appreciate the people at Skyborne, and their professional, dedicated and collaborative way of working.

“We want to stress that the true partnership, for which the foundations have been laid over the last nine months, only begins. We look forward to continuing working with our friends at Skyborne.”

The training device will offer multi-engine training capabilities for trainees, in tandem with Skyborne’s Boeing 737 MAX simulator at its recently expanded Gloucestershire Airport base.
